New Dredge and Disposal Sites at Tracadie Small Craft Harbor

Dredging of the entrance channel to Tracadie Bay will be carried out with a cutter suction dredge with pipeline disposal to the proposed disposal site located approximately 400 meters to the east of the entrance channel. Dredging will be undertaken on an as-needed basis, but will typically occur after ice leaves the harbour in early April and prior to the opening day of fishing season on April 30th. Up to 15,000 m3 of sand may be dredged and ocean disposed annually.

End of Public Comment Period

February 22, 2021 – The public comment period on the project is closed. Fisheries and Oceans Canada- Small Craft Harbours is considering comments received to date to inform its determination on whether carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
