Eskasoni Watermain Contact Loop - Spencer's Lane Well House

The project involves the construction of a chlorine contact loop (approximately 215m of piping) in the form of a watermain to help the treated water achieve the appropriate chlorine contact time prior to reaching the first household.

The construction activities include

  • Connection to the existing 150mm water service leaving Spencer Lane (Castle Bay) Well House
  • Installing a pipe loop via directional drilling under the culvert to the west of the Well House
  • Reconnecting to the existing 150mm watermain distribution to the community.
  • Installation of fire hydrant to allow for bleeding of air from high point, directional drilling will take place from both sides of the stream

The contact loop will also be connected to the existing chlorine analyzer in the Well House to verify chlorine residual prior to distribution to the first household.
