Cabot Trail Road Renovations - Western Section

The Cabot Trail Road Renovations – Western Section project aims to enhance the safety, climate resilience, and long-term viability of the Cabot Trail Road within Cape Breton Highlands National Park. The planned rehabilitation work will address deferred maintenance and implement strategic upgrades to ensure the corridor continues to serve visitors, residents, and operational needs effectively. The project includes road resurfacing, replacing drainage infrastructure, relocating power poles, and widening sections of the paved highway to meet current standards, along with other improvements that strengthen the overall condition and reliability of the asset. Together, these efforts will increase resilience to climate-related impacts and improve safety for all users traveling within the park.
