Notice of intention - Maintenance Dredging - Cap-des-Rosiers Fishing Harbour
This is a non-designated project on federal lands or outside Canada. The listed authorities are responsible for the project assessment.
The Parcs Canada Agency is intending to undertake maintenance dredging at the Cap-des-Rosiers fishing harbour, located on the north side of the Gaspesian Peninsula within the limits of the Forillon national Parc in the province of Quebec.
The maintenance dredging aims to ensure a that the harbour facilities are accessible and safe for navigation for local fishermen and recreotouristic boat operator. The scope of this project includes maintenance dredging of the main basin, the access channel and the mini-basin. The maximum volume of dredged material is about 4 750 m3. The proposed dredging will be carried out by means of a hydraulic shovel or a crane equipped with a half-shell bucket on a barge and a scow. Dredged sediments will be disposed of on land. The maintenance dredging will be completed in the fall of 2023.
To help inform this determination, the Parcs Canada Agency invites the public to submit comments before 28-08-2023 on that determination. Written comments must be submitted to:
