Beaver Lake Cree Nation Telus Telecommunications Tower

Telus plans to build a telecommunications tower to service the community of Beaver Lake Cree Nation. The project will require an access road to be constructed off Cardinal Drive.

Construction activities include drilling for concrete piers, concrete piers/blocks poured for the shelter and tower foundations, and a concrete pad in the tower center. Everything is assembled on site except for the shelter which comes prefabricated. Fill materials will include gravel and wash rock.

Development of the tower/ROW site will include permanent and temporary impacts to wetlands. Permanent impacts will be limited to the footprint of the tower site, its associated anchors, and access road. Temporary impacts will include vegetation removal within the entire tower site. No soil disturbance activities, however, are planned in these areas. Once construction is completed, temporarily impacted areas will be permitted to naturally re-vegetate. Vegetation around the tower structure and anchors will be periodically cleared to support access and maintenance.
