Snow and Ice Clearing (SNIC) Expansion – 4 Wing Cold Lake

The Department of National Defence (DND) is proposing a project. The Department of National Defence at 4 Wing Cold Lake is adding a Snow and Ice Clearing (SNIC) facility and concrete pad extension on the airfield at 4 Wing Cold Lake. The proposed estimated 50,0000 square meter project will include construction of a new building compound, parking area, and concrete pad extension.

October 23, 2025 – The public comment period on the project is closed. The Department of National Defence is considering comments received to help inform its determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
