Little Black Bear First Nation Water Treatment Plant Upgrades

Little Black Bear First Nation is proposing to build a new water treatment plant (WTP), complete with underground water and sewer mains connecting to the existing infrastructure. The new WTP will be situated at the same site as the existing plant, which will be decommissioned. The WTP will be equipped with new potable water truck fill and bottle fill stations. Treatment equipment, mechanical, electrical, heating, ventilation, and controls systems will be installed in the new facility. The project will also include installation of power lines, wired communication to wells, internet and telephone service to the new facility.

Site preparation activities will include topsoil and vegetation stripping and rough grading, as well as excavation for the building's foundation. Construction activities will include pouring of concrete foundations, construction of timber framed structures and installation of mechanical and electrical systems and underground mains.

All anticipated waste generated by construction activities will be disposed of at designated off-reserve facilities.
