Kinistin Solid Waste Transfer Station

Kinistin Saulteaux Nation is proposing to construct a solid waste transfer station (SWTS). The proposed site was cleared during the construction of the community's new sewage lagoon, which is located immediately to the east.

Construction will consist of establishing a 140m x 115m pad with access from the lagoon access road. The pad will contain an attendant building, diversion and storage bays for recyclable materials and hazardous waste (with secondary containment) as well as an elevated platform for transfer of household refuse into waste containers. Perimeter ditching will surround the entirety of the site and will tie-in to existing drainage courses.
