Ocean Man First Nation Headstart and Daycare

Ocean Man First Nation is proposing to construct a new Aboriginal Head Start on Reserve (AHSOR)and daycare. The new facilities will be located in an expansion connected to the community's multiplex which also houses the elementary school. The space will include AHSOR and daycare facilities, including space for an Elder/Culture room, storage, offices, and outdoor play area. The kitchen and other spaces in the multiplex will be shared by the AHSOR and daycare clients and staff. The size of the expansion will be approximately 439 m2, based on the completed 15-year Enrolment Projection.

Physical activities will include general building construction activities from foundation installation to HVAC system commissioning. Supporting utilities will be extended from the attached multiplex.
