Keeseekoose Road to Community Wells

Keeseekoose First Nation is proposing to construct an all‑weather access road to the community's existing well field. The work includes upgrading the existing ~600m long trail. The finished roadway will provide a 5.5 m wide driving surface topped with traffic gravel. The project will also include the establishment of drainage ditches along both sides of the road.

Site preparation activities will include stripping of topsoil from along the proposed roadway alignment. An approximately 20 m wide right‑of‑way will be stripped along the entire 600 m length of the access road to accommodate construction activities, resulting in a total ground disturbance area of roughly 1.2 ha. Construction activities will include grading to design widths and elevations, application of road structure aggregate and surfacing materials. Topsoil will be replaced and seeded along the outside slopes and roadway ditching. Two culvert crossings will also be installed at locations where natural topographic drainage features intersect the access road. These drainage features typically convey water only during spring melt or during significant rainfall events and remain dry for the remainder of the year.

All anticipated waste generated from construction activities will be responsibly handled and disposed of at designated off-reserve facilities.
