Ochapowace Nation Water Treatment Plant Upgrades

Ochapowace Nation is proposing the construction of the water treatment upgrade (WTP) project. The project involves construction of a new WTP located immediately south of the existing WTP in the community core area, upgrades to the existing raw water supply infrastructure at the existing well site located approximately 6 km northeast of the WTP, and installation of two new wells and ancillary control building at a proposed well site located approximately 800m east of the existing well site. The existing well will be decommissioned. The installation of approximately 800 m of raw water main located alongside an existing gravel road within the developed roadway allowance.


Latest update

July 2, 2025 - Indigenous Services Canada issued its notice of determination Notice of Determination for the Okanese Water Treatment Plant Upgrades and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
