Muskowekwan Water Treatment Plant Upgrades

The project will include the construction of a new water treatment plant (WTP) and the connection of a water supply well for Muskowekwan First Nation located on NW 12-27-15 W2M.  The WTP building will sit upon a new underground concrete storage reservoir.  Total area of the building is 616 sq. m.  Total area of facility, including gravel surfaces and truck load out is 0.32 ha (3200 sq. m).  Building construction is typical wood frame construction , with brick veneer.  Treatment process include biological pretreatment with membrane filtration.  The process is sized to meet the ten year design period with room for expansion to meet the twenty year design period.  The existing WTP will be decommissioned upon completion of the new facility.

December 4, 2020 - Indigenous Services Canada issued its notice of determination https://iaac-aeic.gc.ca/050/evaluations/document/137106 and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
