James Smith Miyo-Pimatisiwin Wellness Centre

James Smith Cree Nation is planning to construct a new wellness centre near the community's existing pow-wow and sports grounds. The Miyo-Pimatisiwin Wellness Centre will deliver mental, physical and spiritual wellness programs to the community. The facility's design is focused on interior and exterior spaces for user groups, and will also support land-based learning and traditional healing exercises.

The wellness centre will consist of a single story 1,575 square meter building which will include large and small gathering/meeting rooms, kitchen and dining areas, fitness and recreation areas as well as supporting staff office spaces. A parking lot with large spaces for RV parking and walking paths, playground and a ground amphitheatre will surround the building.
