The Proposed Project

StandardAero Ltd proposes to undertake the expansion of their existing T-201 Plant 6 facility located at 707 Flight Road, Winnipeg Richardson International Airport, Winnipeg, MB. StandardAero operates as an owner and tenant of the existing facility, under Leasehold Title with the Winnipeg Airports Authority.  The existing facility performs Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul (MRO), and testing of aircraft engines. This project will be a 6,358 square meter single-story expansion of the existing building, for a new total building footprint of 22,602 square meters. The existing north wall of Plant 6 will be removed, creating an open connection between the addition and current operations. The facility expansion is intended to increase storage and production capacity for MRO operations conducted in the building. The project includes the construction of a modern vestibule of 55 square meters on the North-West side of the Plant 6 building, which will serve as the new main entrance.

Work will include new pile foundations, grade beams, floor slab and building construction of metal clad steel frame, insulated metal panel walls, and a single-ply roof membrane to match existing building architecture. Heating and air conditioning will be provided using gas/electric rooftop units. Site works will include land drainage modifications, municipal service connections, utility services, and site civil restorations. With additions and modifications to adjacent parking lot pavement and sidewalks, lot electrical and new landscaping of site and along Wellington Avenue.

The proposed project construction duration is 10 months.
