Siksika Nation Women's Safe House

Siksika Nation plans to build a Women's Safe House that will have 20 beds. The shelter will have a kitchen and dining area, large laundry area, library, central secure open courtyard, landscaping, fencing, parking, and be bus service accessible. It will be built in modular components meeting all building and fire code requirements and the foundation will be screw piles supporting the superstructure of each modular unit.

Latest update

March 15, 2024 – Indigenous Services Canada issued its Notice of Determination (iaac-aeic.gc.ca) and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
