Town of Banff Wolf Street Housing Development

The Town of Banff is proposing to construct a new mixed use development of affordable housing and community focused space on the town-leased lot at 50 Wolf Street. The project scope includes relocation of existing utilities within the site, demolition of existing surface infrastructure, tree removal, construction of two 4-storey buildings, landscaping, and onsite stormwater capture and treatment system. No underground parkade or basement will be constructed due to proximity to the Bow River and high ground water table, however, temporary construction dewatering is likely required for utility servicing and elevator shaft pits. There is also a high liklihood a ground source heat exchange system (shallow geothermal) will be installed to support space heating and cooling for a portion of the project. The Town plans to commence work on relocation of utilities in September 2025, to enable foundation construction for the two buildings to proceed in the winter of 2025/2026.
