412 Marten St - McHardy Residences 26 Unit Apartment Development

The proposed development will be a new 26-unit, five-storey, wood-frame residential building. The site is currently home to three heritage buildings (known as McHardy Residence and two Armstrong Cabins) plus a detached garage. Except for "Cabin 2", the existing buildings will be demolished, some existing trees removed and existing landscaping cleared prior to construction. The project will include surface parking in a localized depression at the back of the building with 9 parking stalls and adjacent exterior enclosed bicycle storage. The project will also include trenching to connect to Town of Banff services off of Marten Street. "Cabin 2" will be modified and repurposed as a gazebo/landscape feature to be used as an amenity and gathering space for site residents and visitors, and the property will be relandscaped.
