Kainai Interconnect Project

The purpose of the Kainai Interconnect Project is to install a new connection onto the NGTL System to supply natural gas service to a customer. The Project would consist of the installation of a new nominal pipe size (NPS) 1.5-inch hot tap to the existing NGTL GP NPS 6 Bailey's Bottom Lateral and approximately 10.5 meters of NPS 1.5-inch pipe to supply gas to the customer. The maximum operating pressure would be 9,020 kilopascals. The target in-service date for the facility is May 2026.

 

The Project would be located on an existing NGTL GP pipeline right-of-way (ROW). This pipeline ROW is governed by a registered ROW agreement issued by His Majesty the King in Right of Canada and administered by Indian Oil and Gas Canada and is located on Blood Tribe – Kainai Nation, Reserve (Blood 148) lands located in SW 28-007-22 W4M, approximately 16 kilometres southwest of Lethbridge, Alberta.
