Big River First Nation Drainage Reestablishment Phase 1B

Big River First Nation is proposing to replace existing culvert crossings at eight locations in the community which are frequently subject to washouts and flooding. The work to be completed at each location will include upgrades to road structure, ditching, and drainage.

Site preparation activities will include clearing and grubbing of vegetation, and stripping of topsoil within roadway ditches and drainage channels. Construction activities will include installation/replacement of culverts, installation of rip rap, excavating/filling existing roadways and ditching to design elevations, application of aggregate and surfacing materials to the road surface, and application of topsoil and seeding to the ditching.
