River Road and First Street Restoration

The project will include roadway reconstruction and drainage upgrades along River Road and First Street. This includes a total length of 514m of roadway reconstruction, installation of new storm sewer infrastructure, ditch grading, with stormwater improvements consisting of both a potential extension of the existing storm sewer system and the construction of a new storm sewer network and outflow pipe. Options are being considered for the outflow. 

Latest update

April 27, 2026 – Indigenous Services Canada intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting public comments until May 27, 2026, respecting that determination.
