Fortress of Louisbourg des Roches Parking Lot

The Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site is seeking to develop a new visitor entrance location at the current bus loop accessed through Gate 1 at the end of Park Service Road on the Barachois. Project components will include the construction of a new parking lot in the location of the current bus loop and des Roches building (Fisherman's House), relocating the des Roches building to a new foundation (outside of the new parking lot footprint), relocating the outbuilding to serve as a kiosk and point of entry, and relocating the on-site fish flakes. The existing septic tank will be relocated to the new kiosk location within a heavily disturbed area and the kiosk itself will utilize existing utilities via conduit. Work will be conducted with heavy machinery from within the proposed new parking lot footprint.
