Wharf Removal and Shoreline Reinstatement, Sydney, NS

Suncor Energy Product Partnership (the Proponent) is proposing to remove its wharf and reinstate the shoreline located near the Sydney River in Sydney Harbour, NS. This dilapidated wharf must be removed prior to the termination of the Proponent's lease with Transport Canada; the Federal custodian of Sydney Harbour. The work involves the demolition of the concrete dock, removal of all the steel piles, removal of the concrete interface with the shoreline, and rehabilitation of the impacted shoreline and vegetation. 


Latest update

October 23, 2023 – Transport Canada issued its Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
