Removal and installation of fuel tanks and soil rehabilitation at Havre-Saint-Pierre airport

The project is divided into two secteurs (East and West) and 2 phases.

In 2024 :

  • A 25,000 L tank located on a parcel of land in the western sector of the site will be permanently removed.
  • A 45,500 L tank located on a parcel of land in the eastern sector of the site will be removed, and the soil beneath it rehabilitated.

In 2025 :

  • A 50,000 L tank located on a parcel of land in the western sector of the site will be emptied, removed and reinstalled on the eastern parcel, on a concrete base;
  • The soil on the western plot will be rehabilitated;
  • A new 30,000+ L reservoir will be installed on the eastern plot.

An excavation approximately 2 m deep over an area of 4 m x 10 m is estimated.

The machinery required for the planned work is: a mechanical shovel with a maximum height of 4.5 m, and a 3.6 m wheel loader. Equipment will circulate only in areas authorized by security, and a site fence will be erected to limit the work area. A concrete mixer will also be required for the foundation under the tanks to be reinstalled.

No vegetation removal is required for the work.
