Construction of a new fishing harbour in Natashquan

The project involves developing a new fishing harbour in Natashquan. Currently, commercial fishers lack dedicated and adequate infrastructure for their needs and activities. They operate from the only available wharf, the Transport Canada (TC) commercial wharf, and must regularly give way to commercial vessels, preventing them from mooring regularly and safely. Dedicated and suitable infrastructure for fishers is essential to ensure the safety of their operations.

The project includes the completion of the following works :

  • Construction of a breakwater
  • Construction of a line of floating pontoons
  • Construction of access walkways to the floating pontoons
  • Installation of services (electricity, lighting)
  • Construction of a spur wharf (unloading station)
  • Construction of a service area
  • Construction of a boat ramp
  • Construction of an access road
  • Dredging
