Movement Area Overlay at Natashquan Airport

The asphalt concrete pavement of the Natashquan Airport movement area has exceeded its useful life. The last major repairs were carried out back in 2005. Signs of aging have been observed: numerous longitudinal/transverse cracks that could compromise its safe operation.

The project involves asphalt concrete overlaying of the movement area in accordance with the current TP312 standards to ensure user safety. This work will initiate a new life cycle of around 15 years for this infrastructure.

The project includes:

  1. Rehabilitation of the secondary runway area (16-34) and the work parking lot.
  2. Rehabilitation of the drainage network by reprofiling certain ditches and replacing culverts.

Excavation will be required for many of these activities as well as the use of machinery such as: hydraulic excavator, loader, paver, loading trucks.
