Geotechnical study - Betsiamites bridge

The Ministry of Transportation and Sustainable Mobility (MTMD) plans to conduct a geotechnical study prior to future work to replace the bridge over the Betsiamites River. The bridge is showing signs of deterioration and is nearing the end of its useful life. Rebuilding the bridge at its current location would require completely closing the road to traffic, which is unacceptable given that the crossing is the only road link for the transport of goods and people to the municipalities east of the Betsiamites River. Hence the decision to build the new bridge upstream or immediately downstream of the current crossing. The total footprint is 2,352 m².
