  • For your information the pollution plume of No2 which converts to Nox ( Nitric Acid & Nitrous Acid) when mixed with water/dew. With the current  yearly estimate of 1,128 tons emitting from the plant and thermal inversions of roughly 90 odd days per year trapping the emissions to the ground it would far exceed the emission standards of Health Canada for daily exposure for the school & arena children & residents. The attached document will address a best practise way of removing some of the possible additional No2 which I understand could be forthcoming on top of this figure or at least migrate the issue slightly if the company practises best methods. • TO: Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (IAAC) ATTN: Tracy Lachine, Project Manager RE: Technical Information Request – Beacon AI Centers Indus Project (Reference #90121) Subject: Request for Mandatory Evaluation of Trigeneration and Waste Heat Recovery Alternatives As a concerned stakeholder regarding the Beacon AI Centers Indus Project, I am formally requesting that the Agency include a mandatory requirement in the Tailored Impact Statement Guidelines (TISG) for the proponent to evaluate a Combined Cooling, Heat, and Power (CCHP / Trigeneration) architecture as a "technically and economically feasible alternative means" under Section 22(1)(e) of the Act. RATIONALE FOR THE REQUEST: The current "Initial Project Description" (IPD) relies on a standard open-cycle design with dry-cooling radiators. This design creates a significant Parasitic Load Penalty during Alberta’s summer temperature peaks and winter inversions, leading to the reported emission of 1,128 to ...

  • Please find attached an open letter submitted on behalf of myself, my family, and some concerned residents of the Indus, Alberta area, expressing our strong opposition to the proposed BeaconAI data centre and the Indus Power Generation LP thermal power plant. As outlined in the attached letter, these projects raise serious concerns regarding water supply and groundwater protection, air and noise impacts, traffic and road safety, property values, agricultural land loss, land-use compatibility, precedent-setting impacts, and the adequacy of public engagement. Many affected residents were not aware of public engagement sessions until late in the process, limiting meaningful participation on proposals with long-term and irreversible consequences for our community. Given the proximity of these developments to homes, farms, a school, ...

  • I am writing on behalf of myself, my family, and our concerned neighbours in the Indus, Alberta area to collectively express our strong opposition to the proposed BeaconAI data centre and the Indus Power Generation LP thermal power plant. Both projects are planned northwest of the hamlet of Indus, Alberta, within Rocky View County, and in close proximity to our homes, farms, and a local school. Many of us live within two kilometres of the proposed site, and our children attend school and many residents utilize the nearby recreation facility approximately 3 km away. These projects would directly and negatively affect our families, our water supply, property values, agricultural livelihoods, and the long-term livability and safety of our rural community. We are directing this open letter to municipal, provincial, and federal representatives because the implications of these proposals extend beyond a single jurisdiction and raise serious environmental, water, health, ...

  • Nicholas, It is frustrating after spending some time linking the various players.  I am going to meet with some of the leaders in the indus arena/school and give them a download of what is happening. Boucher (the 77 1/4 section guy I mentioned) volunteering to a committee that nobody pays attention to is suggesting to create a corridor  from Langdon to Indus for water purposes, bring the WID to cover this area and bypass the regulation as they again extend their senior license. Get back to me I think you will find this more than interesting   Regards,

  • As the South Saskatchewan River Basin (SSRB) faces unprecedented water scarcity, the intersection of local water utilities, international private equity, and high-level politics has created a controversial "water bridge" for the Beacon AI "Indus Project." The following details the principals involved and their cross-relationships within the "77- section" development zone and the broader political landscape. 1. The Development Fixer: Alan Boucher (BLV Development Management) Alan Boucher is the central operative connecting the local utility to the land development required for the data centers. • Role: CEO and Founder of BLV Development Management. • Appointment: Appointed to the Langdon Technical Review Committee (TRC) in July 2025 as a representative for Langdon Waterworks. • The "77 Sections" Connection: Boucher is the primary proponent who presented the expansion of the Langdon Area Structure Plan (ASP) to include 77 quarter sections (~12,320 acres) for ...

This submission identifies material uncertainties and potential impact-assessment triggers related to project characterization, on-site power-generation assumptions, drought-stressed baseline conditions, water quantity and quality, cumulative effects, emergency management, public utility impacts, long-term liability, and sustainability. The purpose of this comment is not to prejudge outcomes, but to ensure that relevant impacts are fully assessed, appropriately scoped, and supported by enforceable mitigation and verification measures. Project Characterization and Scale The Indus Project is described as a large, long-lived data-centre ...
