German Army Engineer and Explosive Ordnance Disposal Training 2024 - 5 Wing Goose Bay

The Department of National Defence (DND) is proposing a project. The German Army Engineer and explosive ordnance disposal Team is planning to conduct training activities including deployment of approximately 85 persons at 5 Wing Goose Bay from 13 September 2024 – 14 October 2024.

Planned training activities at the Wilburn Bay German Camp include new construction of three shelters for trans cubes, two new outhouses (above ground tote construction), one new bunkhouse (approximately 20 feet by 40 feet) and installing one new water well (non-potable water).

Planned training activities at the Practice Target Area (PTA) include new construction of a village which consists of grubbing to establish all-terrain vehicle / utility task vehicle access and constructing three individual buildings (approximately 8 feet by 12 feet each), constructing three mock vehicles at the Range Control/ Training Area Development Officer location and one new bunkhouse (approximately 20' x 40'). German explosive ordnance disposal team will also be collecting unexploded explosive ordnance and brass from previous training exercises for return to 5 Wing.

The training exercise may also include the use of local trail systems by all-terrain vehicle / utility task vehicle.
