North Caribou Lake First Nation Water Treatment System Upgrades

North Caribou Lake First Nation is proposing a Water Treatment System Upgrades at their community. The proposed physical activities for the project will include: site preparation; construction of a new water treatment system, watermain and distribution network; decommissioning and demolition of the existing treatment plant; and construction of a truckfill structure; and site restoration.


Latest update

August 29, 2023 – Indigenous Services Canada intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting public comments until September 29, 2023 respecting the determination.

 

November 24, 2023 - The public comment period on the project is closed. Indigenous Services Canada issued its notice of determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause adverse environmental effects.
