My apologies for the delay, Enoch Cree Nation Consultation department has identified a few concerns with this project.

Currently, Enoch Cree Nation is faced with many challenges stemming from development in and around our nation; as a result, our nation members have been pushed to harvesting on crown land within our territory (limited, as there is only 2% of crown land intact within our territory boundaries). With this great impact, any and all development drastically impairs our Treaty right to harvest. Additional to this, Enoch Cree Nation is a small nation comprised of approximately 2750 band members with a diminishing land-based culture due to the impacts of colonization & urban sprawl, as well as industrial and residential development surrounding the borders of our nation. Due to this impact, our knowledge holders and elders who have experience on the land is rapidly declining, as well as impacting the transfer of knowledge to our youth to carry on our land-based traditions.

We greatly appreciate you the extension given to our nation to be able to voice these concerns, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out. I am away from my office this week for a conference; however, I am available through email or cellphone.

Thank you,
