Marginal Wharf Construction, Little Heart's Ease, NL

Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Small Craft Harbours (DFO SCH) is the proponent of the above-referenced project. The project at Little Heart's Ease will require the demolition and removal of the existing gabion wall in order to facilitate the placement of timber cribs for the new marginal wharf. The area of crib placement will be excavated and a rock mattress will be utilized to allow for the placement of cribs. Fenders from the finger pier will be removed to allow for the joining of the marginal wharf to the finger pier. There will also be excavation, scarification, and compaction of the existing parking area sub-grade in order to facilitate the placement of new rock fill and granulars along with the installation of a new catch basin.
