CEAR, Information Request

Dear Honourable Jonathan Wilkinson:

I’m concerned about the environmental effects of Teck’s proposed Castle coal mine in the Elk Valley. I’m writing to ask that you appoint a review panel for the project as soon as possible.

As someone who grew up in the Kootenays, I’m worried about the mine’s effects on the bighorn sheep population of the region, the trout stocks of the Fording River, and the water quality of the Elk River, Lake Koocanusa, and the Kootenay River.

I hope you’ll put the project through as rigorous and independent an environmental review as possible.
