Maple Creek Irrigation Project- Decommissioning of Dry Side

A portion of the irrigation system at Maple Creek was rendered unfeasible after flooding in 2010. This portion has been dry since 2010, and is set to be decommissioned this year.  The project involves removal of small-scale water control structures, which include such things as culverts and weirs, decommissioning drainage ditches previously used to supply and drain water to and from the irrigation system, backfilling ditches and other areas, and revegetating areas.  Some drainage ditches will be left in place, to accommodate natural drainage of the area.  This work is scheduled to occur June through November, 2020.
