Environmental Assessment of the Proposed Morrison Copper-Gold Project – Invitation to Comment

Pacific Booker Minerals Inc. (the Proponent) is proposing the construction and operation of the Morrison Copper-Gold Project (the Project), an open pit copper-gold-molybdenum mine, located approximately 65 kilometres northeast of Smithers and 35 kilometres north of the Village of Granisle, in British Columbia (B.C.).

The proposed project is subject to review under the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act and B.C.'s Environmental Assessment Act.

Public Comment Period

The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (the CEA Agency) and B.C.'s Environmental Assessment Office (EAO) are currently inviting public comments related to the ongoing environmental assessment of the Project. The Proponent has recently submitted an addendum to their existing Application / Environmental Impact Statement (Application / EIS) (also referred to as the Review Response Report) that describes changes to the project design and documents the potential environmental effects of all phases of the Project.

The executive summary of the addendum to the Application / EIS, the Application / EIS itself and additional information regarding the environmental assessment process are available online at www.ceaa.gc.ca and at www.eao.gov.bc.ca

The public comment period is from July 27 to August 10, 2011. All comments received during the comment period will be considered.

The CEA Agency accepts comments in English or in French. Any comments filed need only be submitted once to either the CEA Agency or the EAO to be considered for both the provincial and federal environmental assessments.

Next Steps

After taking public comments into account, the CEA Agency and the EAO will consider these comments along with the information in the Application / EIS in preparing the environmental assessment reports.

The environmental assessment for the proposed project will also include one last federal public comment period, which will be advertised at a later date.

NOTE: All submissions received by the CEA Agency and the EAO during the comment period in relation to the proposed project are considered public. They will be posted to the EAO website and will become part of the CEA Agency project file.
