Notice of Termination

Ottawa – August 2, 2013 – The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (the Agency) decided to terminate the screening, pursuant to the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, 2012, of the Wabush 3 Groundwater Extraction Project.

The Agency's analysis of the project description and comments received from the public revealed that a revised project description would have to be submitted to the Agency in order to determine whether an EA would be required.

The Agency has invited the proponent to submit a revised Project Description. Once the Agency has received a revised Project Description and determines that it is complete, a screening process will be initiated (including a 20-day public consultation period) to determine whether a federal environmental assessment is required.
