Notice of Determination

April 3, 2024 — Canada Post Corporation (CPC) and the Vancouver Airport Authority (VAA) have determined that the proposed project, Canada Post Pacific Processing Centre Expansion at Vancouver Airport is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

This determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:

  • impacts on rights of Indigenous peoples and Indigenous knowledge;
  • community knowledge;
  • comments received from the public; and
  • technically and economically feasible mitigation measures.

CPC and the VAA are satisfied that the carrying out of the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects given the identified mitigation measures. Therefore, the CPC and VAA may carry out the project, exercise any power, perform any duty or function, or provide financial assistance to enable the project to be carried out in whole or in part.

The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority (VFPA) has concluded that they do not have an obligation to make a Determination.
