Notice of Determination

Delta, B.C. – March 10, 2019 – The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority has determined that the proposed Annacis Island Wastewater Treatment Plant New Outfall System – Extension located downstream from the Alex Fraser Bridge, on the north side of the Fraser River is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. 

The determination was based on a consideration of the following factors: 

  • Impacts on rights of Indigenous peoples  

  • Indigenous knowledge 

  • Community knowledge 

  • Comments received from the public 

  • Technically and economically feasible mitigation measures 

The project was posted to the Canadian Impact Assessment Registry on November 3, 2023 for public comment. No comments were received.  

Mitigation measures and/or permit conditions taken into account in making the determination include: 

  • Mitigation measures and permit conditions that were part of the project and environmental review of Project Permit PER No. 17-093 

The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority is satisfied that the carrying out of the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
