Xplore Inc., external modification to existing radiocommunications tower on Ermineskin No. 138 reserve land, near Maskwacis, AB.- Public Comments Invited

2024-01-26 – Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada must determine whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

The Proposed Project

Xplore Inc. is proposing to add a new 0.6m microwave (dish) antenna to an existing 76m guyed radiocommunications tower on Ermineskin No. 138 reserve land near Maskwacis, AB. The purpose of this new antenna is to provide higher capacity backhaul to improve wireless internet service to the rural residential areas. This tower currently houses several large dish antennas, panel antennas and other smaller communications antennas that support a variety of communication technologies including Wireless Broadband, Land Mobile, PCS and Cellular. This tower may have periodic antenna additions or replacements, as required for any Radiocommunication service.
