January 17, 2024Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada must determine whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

Written comments must be submitted by February 17, 2024 to the coordinates listed on the project page.

 

The Proposed Project

New Fibre Installation

MCSnet plans to install underground fiber optic cabling, for Internet purposes, passing through Saddle Lake Indian Reserve No. 125. This part of the project involves the installation of approximately 6.5 km of underground fiber optic cable in a direct path from latitude 53.962211, longitude -111.539674 to latitude 53.903885, longitude -111.539711.

The cable will be buried by directional drilling, trenching, using existing conduits, or a combination of these methods in existing roadway alignments.
