The Proposed Project

New (Multiple) Tower Construction

Tsuut'ina Nation is proposing the construction of 8 telecommunication towers to provide high-speed internet access to Tsuut'ina Nation. The towers will be 200 ft tall. Antennas will be mounted at the top of these towers. These antennas will operate in the 23 GHz frequency bands. All of the equipment necessary to operate this facility will be housed in a small equipment cabinet located on site. These towers may undergo future modifications or the addition/replacement of antennas.

New Fibre Installation

Tsuut'ina Nation plans to install underground fiber optic cabling, for Internet purposes in Tsuut'ina Nation. The project involves the installation of approximately 22 km of underground and aerial fibre optic cable installation will begin from the intersection of Big Knife Rd and Six Mile Coulee Rd, then along the edge of Six Mile Coulee Rd to the intersection of Range Rd 40.

Approximately 2 km, of fibre optic cable is to be buried by directional drilling, trenching, or using existing conduits, or a combination of these methods in existing roadway alignments. Furthermore, 20 km of cable is to be attached to new or existing support structures such as utility/telephone poles that parallel existing roadways. Support structures may require structural improvements to support cable attachments.
