The Proposed Project

The project will consist of the construction of a lightly loaded, wood-framed, building including foundation, required mechanical and electrical systems, water and wastewater service connections, driveway and parking lot, final lot grading and general landscaping for a proposed new Jordan's Principle Centre. The building will be approximately 1,472 m2 in area and will be supported by a system of shallow strip footings or cast-in-place, mechanically cleaned spread bored piles end bearing on the native, stiff clay. A garage building (~225 m2), an outdoor learning area, and two (2) sweat lodges are also planned for construction as part of the new development. Site preparation activities will include clearing and grubbing of approximately 1 ha of topsoil, grass, shrubs, and poplar trees. Erosion control, by way of seeding and silt fencing, will be implemented. Access road/parking lot construction for the new building will include the installation of aggregate material, geotextiles, culverts, ditching, and surface grading. See attached Project Summary for additional project details.
