The Proposed Project

Build Nova Scotia (BNS) is proposing to add floating docks to the Cunard Public Space, between Bishop's Landing and Cunard. The project site is located at the portion of the Halifax Harbour boardwalk fronting the intersection of Lower Water Street and Morris Street. The Project will replace a small floating dock system that was formerly in place with a larger L-configuration of four docks, each of which have dimensions of 3 metres by 12 metres, for a total area of approximately 144 square metres (m2). The docks will be supported by no more than four piles, each having a diameter of 1 m or less, for a maximum total footprint of 8 m2 below the ordinary high water mark (OHWM). The docks are entirely on waterlot property managed by Halifax Port Authority (HPA). The anticipated Project schedule is January to June 2024 pending approval.
