YVR Winter Operations Fuel Storage project – Public Comments Invited

October 20, 2023 – The Vancouver Airport Authority must determine whether the proposed YVR Winter Operations Fuel Storage project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, the Vancouver Airport Authority is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

The Proposed Project

Vancouver Airport Authority is proposing to install two aboveground fuel storage tanks at the Vancouver International Airport in Richmond, B.C. The tanks will provide additional diesel fuel storage capacity for use with airfield maintenance activities during winter operations. The tanks are engineered skid-mounted double-walled aboveground tanks. The fuel tanks are 25,000 L and 35,000 L respectively. The tanks will be kept in a secure area serviced by an oil-water separator.
