North Caribou Lake First Nation Water Treatment System Upgrades Project – Public Comments Invited

August 29, 2023 – Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed Water Treatment System Upgrades Project, located in North Caribou Lake First Nation is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

North Caribou Lake First Nation is proposing a Water Treatment System Upgrades Project at their community. The proposed physical activities for the project will include: site preparation; construction of a new water treatment system, watermain and distribution network; decommissioning and demolition of the existing treatment plant; and construction of a truckfill structure; and site restoration.
