Notice of Determination

August 21, 2023 - ADM Aéroports de Montréal has determined that the mentioned project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects by applying the mitigation measures provided for in the project.

This determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:

  • Community knowledge;
  • Technically and economically feasible mitigation measures;
  • Indigenous knowledge and impacts on rights of Indigenous peoples.

 

Mitigation measures taken into account for this determination are as follows:

Environmental Noise and Air quality

  • Maintain trucks and all machinery in good working order.
  • Limit idling of vehicles and machinery.
  • Use dust suppressants on the road and unpaved work areas.

Drainage and Water Quality

  • Implement sediment control measures.
  • Protect the ditch and the storm sewer adjacent to the site at all times against the release of contaminants.
  • Characterize excavation water to ensure appropriate management.

Soil Quality

  • Cover mounds of soil with a polyethylene membrane.
  • Avoid storing contaminated materials directly on the ground.
  • Manage contaminated soils in accordance with applicable regulations.

Terrestrial Environments, Vegetation and Wetlands

  • Avoid as much as possible disturbance of vegetation adjacent to work areas.
  • Redevelop the areas altered by the works to promote natural regrowth of vegetation.

Invasive Alien Species (IAS)

  • Before starting work, locate invasive species on the worksite.
  • Clean equipment on infertile soil, away from bodies of water or wetlands.
  • Comply with IAS landfill requirements on the work site.

Transport Infrastructures and Road Traffic

  • Identify alternative routes for site users.
  • Inform site users of preferred routes for machinery.
