The Proposed Project
Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC), the Parks Canada Agency (PCA) and the National Capital Commission (NCC) have partnered to rehabilitate approximately 408 meters of Hartwell's Locks Lane and 540 m2 of associated parking lot on land owned by PCA and AAFC in Ottawa, Ontario.
Upgrades include repairing the degraded asphalt roadway and supporting storm drainage system. A new 411 meter multi-use pathway will also be built along Hartwell's Locks Lane providing a connection between the Rideau Canal multi-use pathway/Carleton University and the Central Experimental Farm. Hartwell's Locks Lane runs from Prince of Wales Drive across the Central Experimental Farm to the Hartwell's Lock Station (part of the Rideau Canal Waterway).
