Grande Prairie Very High Frequency Omni-directional Range (VOR) Replacement – Public Comments Invited

[April 25, 2023] Transport Canada must determine whether the proposed Grande Prairie Very High Frequency Omni-directional Range (VOR) Replacement, located in Grande Prairie, Alberta, is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Transport Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

Grande Prairie Very High Frequency Omni-directional Range (VOR) Replacement

NAV CANADA proposes to replace the existing Very High Frequency Omnidirectional Range (VOR) navigation aid around 714020 RR 74, Wembley, AB T0H 3S0. The purpose of the VOR is to provide navigational aid to aircraft operating in the Grande Prairie area. The existing VOR structure and equipment is being upgraded to provide an enhanced level of service to aircraft operators. Work to include removal of the existing structure and building, replacement of the electrical service, and installation of new a VOR counterpoise structure, equipment shelter, 32.5' monitor tower, and associated equipment/antennas/cabling.
