Ministikwan Lake Cree Nation - Solid Waste Transfer Station- Public Comments Invited

March 28, 2023 - Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed Ministikwan Lake Cree Nation - Solid Waste Transfer Station, located on Ministikwan IR161, is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination.

The Proposed Project

The project consists of the construction of a new solid waste transfer site for the Ministikwan Lake and Mudie Lake communities on NE-32-58-25-3WM. Infrastructure installed will include an attendant building with power, a cold storage shed, pre-cast concrete lock block walls, guardrail systems, chain-link perimeter fence, as well as gravel and concrete pads for waste bins. A drainage swale will be placed around the perimeter of the site. The transfer station will be just under 2.7 acres. It is expected to provide a minimum of 25 years of municipal solid waste disposal services.
