Notice of intent to make a determination

Loon River First Nation Industrial Park Warehouse – Public Comments Invited

January 19, 2023 – Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed Loon River First Nation Industrial Park Warehouse project, located in Loon River, Alberta, is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination.

The Proposed Project

Loon River First Nation plans to construct a warehouse within an established industrial area that will be used for storage, training, and office space. The warehouse will also feature a mechanical bay for small repairs and maintenance. Potiental impacts may include construction within known caribou range, however critical habitat is unlikely to be disturbed.
