December 19, 2022 – Indigenous Services Canada has determined that the proposed decommisioning of the Ne-Aska-Gila Guaw Creek Dam is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

The determination was based on the following factors:

• The proposed project will remove aging infrastructure assets and remove a barrier to fish passage.
• No comments were received from the public about the project.
• Mitigation measures required for the project will be implemented through the Construction Environmental Management Plan.
